You will deliver practitioner-focused instruction for general education and Special Education licensure candidates, using adult-learning frameworks and Thinking Classroom methods to foster high engagement.
The role emphasizes co-planning with the program coordinator, timely feedback on learning assignments, and alignment to Colorado standards.

Serving as a dynamic and experienced educator, the Affiliate Instructor prepares the next generation of educators for theSecondary and Special Education 27J INSIGHT Alternative Teacher Licensure Programs (ATLP). This position delivers high-quality, practitioner-focused, and adult-learning-aligned instruction for general education candidates (focused on the Colorado Teacher Quality Standards) and/or Special Education candidates (focused on Special Education standards and laws) in the 27J ATLP. Instructors utilize adult learning and teaching models to facilitate active, student-centered environments that replace traditional lecture structures with high-engagement application. 27J is primarily looking for Affiliate Instructors for Special Education.
For SPED Assignment: Deep knowledge of special education pedagogy, intervention methods, SDI, and federal/state laws.
This position does not directly supervise district employees, but holds professional technical responsibility for guiding, assessing, and signing off on the growth, learning assignments, and instructional competencies of alternative licensure teacher candidates.
Requires clean, clear verbal and written communication skills to deliver monthly 5-hour instruction blocks.
Professional adult learning classroom environments (hybrid or in-person as designated by the SY 2026-2027 program schedule) on Mondays. Mental Functions: Requires high-level evaluative judgment, critical thinking, adaptability, complex problem-solving, and emotional intelligence to coach diverse adult candidates navigating real-world classroom challenges
