Qualifikationen

• Minimum one year of work experience in a medical office, or three to six months related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Laser Certification - Required.
• Experience with IPL, microneedling, microdermabrasion, laser hair removal, chemical peels, etc.

Aufgaben

• Provides various skin treatments for patients referred by Physicians, including peels, microdermabrasion, laser hair removal, and other cosmetic procedures under physician oversight.
• Prepares patients for treatment, assists with instruments and equipment, explains procedures, and ensures patient comfort and safety.
• Records patient information and coding in charts; observes patient condition and notifies physician of reactions or issues.
• Consults with patients regarding skin care needs, outcomes, problems, and follows up as needed.
• Maintains inventory of products, cleans and sterilizes instruments, and ensures exam rooms are well organized and stocked.

SECTION 1: Job Summary (Summary of the basic functions of the position)A licensed Aesthetician provides prescribed skin treatment and personal care services to patients inclinic, under the clinical supervision of a licensed medical provider by performing the following duties.SECTION 2: Duties and Responsibilities (Responsibilities necessary to accomplish job functions)Patient Care Duties:Provides various skin treatments for patients referred by Physicians that may includeSkin peels, variousMicrodermabrasian proceduresLaser hair removal, body & facial hairCosmetic treatmentsVarious other procedures that require physician oversightPrepares patients for treatment, positions instruments and equipment, interviews patients, explains procedures and treatments to patient to gain cooperation, understanding, and allay apprehension, maintains awareness of comfort and safety needs of patient.Observes each patient, records significant conditions and reactions, and notifies physician of the patient’s condition and reaction to treatments, and significant incidents.Records all pertinent information in patients’ chart, accurately codes all services provided.Consults with patients regarding skin care needs, procedures, outcomes, problems, etc.Assists providers as needed with patients’ skin care.Oversees and provides skin care and cosmetic products for patients.Maintains inventory of products; orders products, and reports on sales of products.General Duties:Sets up examination rooms for procedures, assembles and uses equipment as necessary for this roleMaintains examination rooms, cleans rooms after each patient, sterilizes equipment, and weekly \"scrub down\" of all examination rooms.Inventories all medical supplies, maintains appropriate supply inventory in examination rooms, stocks examination rooms with all needed equipment and supplies.Maintains all medical instruments for quality.Receives, cleans, and repackages reusable instruments, marked with expiration dates.Arranges for replacement or refurbishment of reusable instruments.Adheres to all OSHA regulations and universal precautions, including waste and sharps disposal.Maintains knowledge of OSHA regulations and use of universal precautions as appropriateParticipates in department or unit quality improvement activities.Cross train and provide coverage for front desk check in/out as necessary at the request of the practice manager.Adheres to all safety policies and procedures in performing job duties and responsibilities while supporting a culture of high quality and great customer service.Performs other duties that may be necessary or in the best interest of the organizationSECTION 3: Experience RequirementsMinimum one year of work experience in a medical office, or three to six months related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.Laser Certification- RequiredExperienced but not limited to: IPL, microneedling, microdermabrasion, laser hair removal, chemical peels, ect.SECTION 7: Knowledge, Skills and Abilities RequirementsDetail oriented, professional attitude, reliableManagement and organizational skills to support the leadership of this functionAbility to follow or provide verbal & written instructions with sufficient grammar and spelling skills to avoid mistakes or misinterpretationsInterpersonal skills to support customer service, functional, and team mate support needsAble to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writingBasic knowledge of medical billing coding, including CPT and ICD-9 coding, preferred.Mathematical and/or analytical ability for basic to intermediate problem solvingBasic to intermediate computer operationProficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and OutlookSpecialty knowledge of systems relating to job functionKnowledge of state and federal regulations for this position; general understanding of HIPAA guidelinesSECTION 8: Supervisory Responsibilities:This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
