Job Description/Essential Functions:

Bevilacqua Research Corporation (BRC) is a Service Disabled Veteran Owned, Small Business based in Huntsville, Alabama, incorporated in 1992. BRC provides "best-value" technical and management solutions to a diverse government and commercial customer base in key areas: test & evaluation, systems analysis & integration, security & intelligence, and R&D.

This position supports the NASA EM32 Welding & Manufacturing team under the Engineering Services and Science Capability Augmentation (ESSCA) contract at NASA MSFC, within the Space Exploration Group (JSEG).

Responsibilities:
  1. Develop welding techniques, procedures, and apply welding equipment to metal fabrication problems, based on specifications, properties, and engineering principles.
  2. Conduct research to develop and test new welding processes and equipment, improve existing methods, and study welding phenomena.
  3. Prepare technical reports on research and development activities.
  4. Establish welding procedures for production, considering material specifications, processes, and complex alloys.
  5. Perform experimental welding to evaluate new equipment, techniques, and materials.
  6. Manage specific welding development projects as a project lead engineer.
  7. Assist customers in understanding and resolving welding manufacturing issues.
Minimum Requirements:

BSc in Welding Engineering or related field from an ABET-accredited university. Ability to obtain and maintain a valid driver's license and safety certifications, including Welding Safety. Experience with large-scale aerospace friction stir welding, Gas Tungsten Arc Welding on aerospace materials (e.g., aluminum alloys 2219 and 2195), stainless steel, superalloys, titanium. Familiarity with standards such as ANSI/AWS D17.1/D17.1M:2017-AMD2 and D17.3/D17.3M:2021.

Desired Experience:

Experience with NASA standards (e.g., NASA-STD-6016, NASA-STD-5006), MSFC specifications, and working with aerospace hardware welding processes is preferred.
