Job summary

Blue Origin LLC in Kent, WA seeks a Manufacturing Engineer II to develop and implement robust welding and COPV manufacturing processes for tanks and related aerospace structures. You will collaborate with design, quality, and production teams to ensure high-quality builds and drive continuous improvement.

The role requires hands-on shop floor support, root-cause analysis of weld-related issues, and close coordination during ECRs to enhance manufacturability and cost efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Industrial Engineering or related field.
• 3+ years of relevant experience in aerospace manufacturing or welding.
• Familiarity with NDT methods (visual, PT, UT, RT, PAUT).
• Ability to interpret 2D/3D drawings and CAD models.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on support to production teams in a fast-paced environment.
• Troubleshoot and disposition weld-related non-conformances (cracks, porosity, inclusions).
• Interpret NDT results and support defect resolution.
• Develop execution-ready work instructions from complex drawings.
