Job summary

Votaw Precision Technologies seeks a Weld Inspector to support daily inspection operations in the Welding Department. You will perform visual, mechanical, and operational inspections of weldments and structures, ensuring compliance with AWS D1.1 and project specifications.

You will use metrology tools to measure features and collaborate with the Welding Supervisor to keep production flowing. The role requires reading engineering drawings, applying GD&T, and ensuring quality across tooling

Qualifications

• Familiar with MIG, TIG, stick welding processes.
• Knowledge of AWS D1.1 standard.
• Able to read engineering drawings and specifications (Blueprint reading).
• Knowledge of GD&T and tight tolerance requirements.
• Ability to lift 15–50 pounds.
• Overtime/night shift may be required.
• Experience in aerospace tooling or fabrication preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead visual, mechanical, and operational inspection of weldments and tooling components.
• Use metrology tools to measure features against part requirements.
• Coordinate with Welding Supervisor to streamline manufacturing and inspection workflows.
• Ensure compliance with specifications, standards, and audits; support QA activities.
• Perform rework as needed and assist with continuous improvement.
