Job summary

Parker Aerospace is seeking a visual inspection technician to perform inspections of welded and brazed joints. The role operates under close supervision, setting up equipment, conducting tests, and documenting results in accordance with approved procedures.

Responsibilities include interpreting weld inspection requirements from drawings, maintaining knowledge of codes, and assisting with daily activities. The position emphasizes lean principles, teamwork, and adherence to safety and quality

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; 0–1 year experience preferred.
• Must be able to pass an annual vision exam per SPD procedures.
• Ability to interpret weld inspection requirements from drawings and specifications.
• Ability to read, write, and understand instructions, procedures, drawings and blueprints.
• Knowledge of GTAW, AWS codes and standards preferred.
• Demonstrates effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication; teamwork.
• Ability to interpret reports and use job-specific software applications.
• Able to use employee self-service systems to access on-line information and use specialized automated systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform visual inspection of parts by following approved procedures.
• Set up, calibrate, standardize equipment, and conduct tests per procedures.
• Interpret results for acceptance or rejection and document results.
• Remain familiar with codes and standards that control the visual inspection method; mark rejectable parts and complete required rework paperwork.
• Assist Weld Inspector Specialist with daily activities as needed.
• Maintain knowledge of lean concepts and value stream mapping for efficient product flow.
• Maintain readiness and proficiency to perform assigned work and learn new tasks.
• Propose lean improvements and apply lean tools in the work area.
• Keep work area and equipment organized, clean, and free of FOD.
• Follow safety rules and maintain a clean, orderly work area.
• Maintain high ethical/quality standards.
