Job summary

Rocket Lab seeks a Turbomachinery Intern to join the Long Beach site, contributing to the turbopump design and test lifecycle for LOX/fuel pumps. You will work with mentors on CAD updates, data review, and analyses, while embedded in a fast-paced propulsion team.

The role emphasizes collaboration, hands-on engineering, and professional growth, with on-site work for 12 weeks starting May/June 2027 in California.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in a bachelor’s, master’s or doctorate degree program in aerospace engineering, aeronautical engineering, astronautical engineering, thermal engineering, mechanical engineering or physics with at least one semester remaining.
• GPA of 3.0 or above.
• 3+ months of applied engineering experience (internship, lab, or projects) applicable.

Responsibilities

• Support turbopump assembly design, CAD and drawing updates, data review and analysis.
• Collaborate with mentor and team to apply engineering concepts to real challenges.
• Attend frequent 1:1s with mentors and supervisors to track progress and learning.
• Participate in tech talks and intern networking events.
