Job summary

Rocket Lab USA is seeking a Turbomachinery Intern at our Long Beach, CA site to support turbopump assembly design, CAD updates, data review and analysis. You will work under a mentor, contributing to propulsion design and test lifecycle for LOX and fuel pumps powering our latest rocket.

The role emphasizes gaining hands-on experience in a fast-paced aerospace environment, collaboration across teams, and participation in tech talks and intern networking events.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in a bachelor’s, master’s or doctorate degree program in aerospace engineering, aeronautical engineering, astronautical engineering, thermal engineering, mechanical engineering or physics and have at least one semester remaining post internship.
• GPA of 3.0 or above.
• 3+ months of applied engineering experience (internship, lab or projects).

Responsibilities

• Apply knowledge and grow technical and professional skills under mentorship.
• Work with a fast-paced team to apply engineering concepts to real challenges.
• Attend frequent 1:1s with mentors to track progress and learning.
• Network with interns and employees through events and talks.
