Job summary

PPG's Aerospace business is seeking a Process Engineer – Aerospace Transparencies to develop and troubleshoot plant process systems, implement strategies, manage resources, and document processes. The role focuses on continuous improvement to achieve safety, quality, productivity, cost, and customer service excellence.

The position is on-site at the Huntsville, AL facility reporting to the Production Engineering Manager.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a science discipline.
• Three or more years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment is required.
• Lean or Six Sigma experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a technical resource for production team in the work cell and provide daily technical support.
• Drive improvement and maximize productivity across products and processes.
• Lead problem-solving using root cause, fishbone, and 5-why methodologies.
• Improve product quality, capacity, and reduce cycle/setup times with new technologies.
• Track production metrics and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Collaborate with quality, design, new product development, safety, and lab teams to improve processes and safety.
