PPG in Huntsville, AL seeks a Process Engineer – Aerospace Transparencies to develop and troubleshoot plant process systems, implement strategies, manage resources, and document processes. You will focus on continuous improvement to achieve safety, quality, productivity, and cost targets.

The role reports to the Production Engineering Manager and requires collaboration with multiple teams to resolve issues and drive operational excellence on site. U.S. citizenship or eligible status is required.

Qualificações

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or scientific discipline required.
• Three or more years of experience within engineering or an equivalent environment required.
• Lean and/or Six Sigma experience preferred.

• Drive improvement and maximize productivity among products and processes.
• Lead problem-solving and improvement projects using root cause, fishbone, and 5-Why analyses.
• Improve product quality, increase process capacity, and reduce cycle/setup times by adopting new technologies.
• Collaborate with quality, design, NPD, safety, and lab teams to resolve problems and improve safety.

As the Process Engineer – Aerospace Transparencies you will be responsible for developing and troubleshooting plant process systems including the implementation of process strategies, managing process resources, identifying and optimizing critical process variables and conditions, and maintaining process documentation while focusing on the continuous improvement of manufacturing unit operations resulting in best-in-class safety, quality, productivity, cost, and customer service standards.

This is an on-site role reporting to the Huntsville, AL facility. In this role you will report to the Production Engineering Manager.

Responsibilities :

• Serve as a technical resource for production team in the work cell. Work closely with operators to eliminate barriers to production. Provide technical support for day-to-day operations.
• Responsible for driving improvement and maximizing productivity among the products and processes.
• Guide team in problem-solving and improvement projects through organized and structured methods such as root cause, fishbone, and 5-why.
• Priorities include improving product quality, increasing process capacity, reducing variation within product and process, reducing cycle times and setup times, and adopting new technologies to modernize manufacturing processes
• Track and analyze relevant production metrics within work cell. Utilize production data to identify opportunities for improvement and track progress.
• Collaborate with quality team, design engineering team, new product development team, safety team, analytical lab, operators, and other manufacturing engineers on a regular basis to resolve problems, improve manufacturing processes, and improve safety of the work environment.

Qualifications :

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or scientific discipline required.
• Three (3) or more years of experience within engineering or an equivalent environment required.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment required.
• Lean and/or six sigma experience preferred.
• Ability to effectively work with floor level operators, manufacturing, quality and design engineering teams to drive positive change.
