Job summary

PPG Industries, Inc in Huntsville, AL seeks a Process Engineer for Aerospace Transparencies. The role focuses on developing and troubleshooting plant process systems, implementing strategies, managing resources, and driving continuous improvement in safety, quality, productivity, and costs.

On-site reporting to the Production Engineering Manager. The engineer will collaborate with operators and cross-functional teams to enhance processes, adopt new technologies, and optimize product performance

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in engineering or scientific discipline required.
Five (5) or more years of experience within engineering or an equivalent environment required.
Experience in a manufacturing environment required.
Lean and/or six sigma experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Serve as a technical resource for production team in the work cell and collaborate with operators to enable production.
Drive improvement and maximize productivity across products and processes.
Lead problem solving using structured methods (root cause, fishbone, 5-why).
Improve product quality, increase process capacity, reduce variation, and shorten cycle/setup times.
Track production metrics and use data to identify opportunities for improvement.
Collaborate with quality, design, safety, and other teams to resolve problems and improve safety.
