Job summary

PPG's Aerospace Transparencies unit in Huntsville, AL seeks a Process Engineer to develop and troubleshoot plant process systems, implement strategies, manage resources, and identify critical variables to improve safety, quality, productivity, cost, and customer service.

This on-site role reports to the Production Engineering Manager and requires collaboration with quality, design, NPD, safety, and lab teams to drive continuous improvement and modernization of manufacturing operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or scientific discipline required.
• Five (5) or more years of experience within engineering or an equivalent environment required.
• Lean and/or six sigma experience preferred.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment required.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a technical resource for production team in the work cell.
• Drive improvement and maximize productivity among products and processes.
• Guide team in problem-solving using root cause, fishbone, and 5-why methods.
• Improve product quality, increase process capacity, reduce variation and cycle/setup times.
• Track and analyze production metrics and identify improvement opportunities.
• Collaborate with quality, design engineering, NPD, safety, and analytical lab teams to resolve problems and improve safety.
