Job summary

Astronics Corporation in East Aurora, NY, is hiring a Senior Training Specialist to develop and deliver technical training for manufacturing personnel in a high‑precision aerospace environment. You’ll ensure compliance with AS9100/IPC and lead cross‑functional collaboration to close skill gaps and enable new product introductions.

You’ll create materials, oversee certifications, and maintain LMS records while advancing workforce development on the factory floor.

Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering Technology, Manufacturing, Industrial Technology, or related field, or equivalent.
• 5+ years in aerospace, electro‑mechanical assembly, or precision manufacturing.
• Experience developing and delivering technical manufacturing training.
• Knowledge of AS9100, IPC standards, and controlled docs.
• Ability to read drawings, wiring diagrams, and process docs.
• Hands‑on soldering, wiring, crimping, torque, and precision tooling.
• Strong communication, coaching, and instructional skills and LMS proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver hands‑on training programs for operators, technicians, assemblers, and inspectors.
• Train on assembly techniques, wiring, soldering, torque, calibration, inspection and testing.
• Create and maintain work instructions, manuals, visuals, and digital modules.
• Ensure training aligns with AS9100, IPC, and internal procedures.
• Evaluate trainee competency via tests, demos, and on‑job checks.
• Maintain training records and LMS documentation; support NPI and onboarding.
