Job summary

Saab West Lafayette, IN seeks a Manufacturing Engineering Technician for the 3rd shift to help ensure proper tooling supply and drive tooling improvements. You will bridge tooling engineering and production, conduct tooling studies, and support performance testing as part of a hands-on manufacturing team.

Ideal candidates have an Associate Degree in STEM or 2+ years in aircraft manufacturing, with ability to work long hours, lift up to 50 lbs, and contribute to a people-first culture aligned

Qualifications

• Associate Degree in STEM or 2+ years comparable work experience is required.
• 2+ years technical/assembly in aircraft manufacturing is a plus.
• Tooling selection/application experience in manufacturing setting.
• Basic tooling design and tooling performance testing.

Responsibilities

• Audit and maintain proper tools within each assembly area.
• Provide support for tooling studies and application.
• Conduct performance testing for tooling and provide reports.
• Investigate and resolve tooling issues.
• Propose new tooling solutions and contribute to capital projects.
• Assist assemblers with safe use of tools.
• Ensure tooling compliance to Aerospace standards.
