Saab West Lafayette in Indiana is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Technician for the 3rd shift to support tooling and manufacturing technology in aircraft production.

You will audit tools, support tooling studies, conduct performance testing, resolve tooling issues, and propose new tooling solutions while upholding Saab's values of Trust, Drive, Expertise and Support. Candidates should have STEM associate degree or 2+ years in aircraft manufacturing.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree in STEM or 2+ years of comparable work experience required.
• 2+ years of technical/assembly in aircraft manufacturing is a plus.
• Tooling selection/application experience in manufacturing setting.
• Basic tooling design knowledge.
• Troubleshooting tooling issues with countermeasures.
• Tooling performance testing and reporting.
• Ability to operate machining and measurement equipment.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Understanding aerospace quality regulations and standards is a plus.
• GD&T proficiency.
• Proficient in Excel reporting.

Responsabilités

• Audit and maintain proper tools within each assembly area.
• Provide support for tooling studies and application.
• Conduct performance testing for tooling and provide technical analysis reports and testing.
• Investigate and resolve tooling issues.
• Propose new tooling solutions/designs and contribute to installation of tooling capital projects.
• Assist assemblers with proper and safe use of tools.
• Ensure tooling compliance to Aerospace standards.
• Work independently and in a team setting.
