Job summary

Saab West Lafayette (West Lafayette, IN) is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Technician for the 3rd shift to ensure the production system is properly supplied with tooling and to drive tooling improvements. You will be the liaison between tooling engineering and the production team, auditing tools, supporting studies, and conducting performance testing.

Requirements include an Associate Degree in STEM or 2+ years in aircraft manufacturing; proficiency with Excel, CAD software is a plus, and a

Qualifications

• Associate Degree in STEM or 2+ years of comparable experience required.
• 2+ years of technical/assembly in aircraft manufacturing is a plus.
• Tooling selection/application experience in manufacturing settings.
• Basic tooling design and troubleshooting with countermeasures.

Responsibilities

• Audit and maintain proper tools in each assembly area.
• Support tooling studies and applications.
• Conduct tooling performance testing and provide analysis reports.
• Investigate tooling issues and propose fixes.
• Propose new tooling solutions and support installation of tooling capital projects.
• Promote Saab values in daily work.
• Assist assemblers with proper and safe tool use.
• Ensure tooling compliance to aerospace standards.
• Collaborate with tooling engineer and production teams.
• Work extended hours/weekend overtime as required.
