Job summary

Saab West Lafayette is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Technician on 3rd shift to ensure tooling readiness, drive improvements, and support production. You’ll bridge tooling engineering and the shop floor while maintaining compliance with aerospace standards.

The role emphasizes tooling performance, problem solving, and collaboration within a people-first culture, offering opportunities for growth during extended hours as needed.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree in STEM discipline or 2+ years of comparable work experience.
• 2+ years of technical/assembly in aircraft manufacturing preferred.
• Tooling selection / application experience in a manufacturing setting.
• Basic tooling design and tooling performance testing.
• Proficient with Excel; CAD software is a plus.
• Able to operate machining and measurement equipment; GD&T knowledge.
• Strong organizational skills and initiative.
• Understanding aerospace quality regulations is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Audit and maintain tools within each assembly area.
• Support tooling studies and applications.
• Conduct tooling performance testing and provide analyses.
• Investigate tooling issues and propose solutions.
• Assist with installation of tooling capital projects.
• Ensure safety and compliance with aerospace standards.
• Collaborate between tooling engineer and production team.
• Work extended hours as required.
