Job summary

Component Repair Technologies, Inc. in Mentor, OH, seeks a Tooling Design Engineer to create and modify detailed drawings for aerospace component repair/overhaul using AutoCAD and SolidWorks.

You will coordinate with engineering to ensure OEM/aerospace standards are met, contributing to fixture and tooling design through 3D printing and scanning. The role involves collaboration with an experienced team, adherence to safety, and maintaining rigorous documentation across engineering and production

Qualifications

• A degree in the engineering/technology/manufacturing field, or equivalent demonstrated experience.
• A minimum of six months previous experience with drafting and tooling design.
• Knowledge of, or some exposure to 3D printing.
• Ability to keep up with rapidly changing technology and drafting standards.
• Understanding FEA analysis.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with engineering to design fixture/tooling drawings using SolidWorks.
• Prepare drawings and figures derived from specifications, layouts, blueprints, and sketches.
• Produce standardized operation sketches to clearly show repair requirements using 2D AutoCAD.
• Review drawings and designs to ensure adherence to specifications and standards.
• Organize and maintain computer files, drawings and forms following documentation control procedures.
• Design and create prototype tooling using 3D printer and 3D modeling with SolidWorks.
• Utilize 3D scanning technology to measure components for reverse engineering.
