Job summary

Component Repair Technologies, Inc. in Mentor, OH is seeking a Tooling Design Engineer to create and modify detailed drawings for aerospace component repair and overhaul using AutoCAD and SolidWorks.

You will collaborate with the engineering team to ensure drawings meet OEM and aerospace standards. You will work with experienced colleagues to gain techniques and knowledge, while contributing to tooling design, fixture development, and reverse engineering using 3D printing and scanning.

Qualifications

• Degree in engineering/technology/manufacturing or equivalent experience.
• At least six months drafting and tooling design experience.
• Familiarity with 3D printing preferred.
• Understanding of drafting standards and geometric tolerances.
• Knowledge of safety and manufacturing practices.

Responsibilities

• Follow safety protocols to ensure policy compliance.
• Collaborate with engineering and production to improve documentation and tooling.
• Prepare drawings from specifications, layouts, blueprints, and sketches using SolidWorks and 2D AutoCAD.
• Reviews drawings for adherence to specs and standards.
• Organize and maintain files and forms per documentation control.
• Interpret geometric symbols and feature controls.
• Design and create prototype tooling with 3D printing and SolidWorks.
• Use 3D scanning to measure components for reverse engineering.
