Job summary

Component Repair Technologies, Inc. in Mentor, OH, seeks a Tooling Design Engineer to create and modify detailed drawings for aerospace component repair using AutoCAD and SolidWorks, ensuring OEM and industry standards are met.

Collaborate with engineering and production teams to design fixture tooling, prepare 2D sketches, and drive documentation control while enabling reverse engineering through 3D printing and scanning.

Qualifications

• A degree in engineering/technology/manufacturing or equivalent experience.
• Six months of drafting/tooling design experience minimum.
• Knowledge of 3D printing exposure preferred.
• Ability to adapt to rapidly changing drafting standards.
• Familiarity with GD&T concepts is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Follow established safety policies and procedures.
• Collaborate with engineering and production to improve documentation and tool designs.
• Prepare drawings from specifications using 2D AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
• Review drawings for compliance with specifications and standards.
• Organize and manage files and forms per documentation controls.
• Interpret and utilize geometric symbols and feature controls.
• Design and create prototype tooling using 3D printing and SolidWorks.
• Use 3D scanning to measure components for reverse engineering.
