Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a Welder/Laser Operator to support advanced aerospace manufacturing. You will perform orbital tube welding, TIG, and VPPA on aluminum, steel, and alloys to tight aerospace tolerances, reading blueprints and procedures to ensure quality.

You will prepare surfaces, fabricate jigs, and use precision meters to verify fits. The role requires maintaining a safe, clean, 5S-compliant workspace and collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED plus trade school or equivalent experience.
• Experience with orbital tube welding, TIG, and VPPA in aerospace.
• AWS welder certification or equivalent.
• Ability to read blueprints and interpret welding procedures.

Responsibilities

• Perform orbital tube welding, TIG, and VPPA on aerospace components to specified tolerances.
• Read blueprints and welding procedures to guide fabrications.
• Prepare surfaces and blend metals for welding and NDE.
• Fabricate jigs, fixtures, and sub-assemblies per aerospace standards.
• Use precision tools to verify accuracy and quality of work.
• Troubleshoot and maintain welding and laser equipment.
• Maintain a clean, safe, 5S workspace and support continuous improvement.
• Document work and communicate findings to engineering and quality teams.
