Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a skilled welding operator to support automated welding systems in our Washington state facilities. The role involves setting up production areas, verifying hardware against engineering drawings, diagnosing issues, and maintaining safety and quality standards.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, 2+ years on automated welding equipment, strong communication, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Relocation is provided and travel may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 2+ years of experience in automated welding equipment.
• Experience in manufacturing, integration, or another relevant field.
• Ability to interpret engineering models, drawings, specifications, written work instructions, and test procedures.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Basic computer skills in Windows, Microsoft Office, etc.
• Ability to perform repetitive tasks such as climbing ladders/stairs, lifting heavy items up to 50lbs, and blending welds.
• Ability to work any shift, extended overtime hours, and weekends if/when necessary, as directed.
• Self-sufficient, self-starter and driven.
• Metallurgical knowledge.
• Ability to fabricate and use hand tools on an expert level.

Responsibilities

• Operate robotic weld systems.
• Setup new production work areas, including layouts, tooling, and equipment.
• Perform second party verifications and hardware inspections to engineering models, drawings, specifications, and written work instructions.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and correct discrepancies by modification, rework, repair, and/or maintenance.
• Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for recurrence control
• Ability to operate various material handling equipment including forklifts, overhead cranes, aerial lifts, truck-trailer combinations, and other group support equipment as required.
• Setup and operate a wide range of precision calibrated tools such as torque wrenches, micrometers, calipers, depth gauges, and optical measuring instruments.
• Perform routine maintenance functions such as daily clean-up of work areas to support 5S, FOD, and Safety.
• Other duties as assigned or otherwise beneficial to fulfilling the mission.
