Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a Welder/Laser Operator to support advanced aerospace manufacturing on Space Coast, FL. You will perform precision welding (OTW, TIG, VPPA) on aluminum, steel, and alloys to aerospace tolerances, interpret blueprints, and ensure quality through measurement and NDE readiness.

The role requires reading drawings, preparing surfaces, and fabricating fixtures while maintaining safety and 5S standards in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED plus trade school or equivalent experience.
• Experience with orbital tube welding, TIG, and VPPA on aerospace alloys.
• AWS welding certification or equivalent is preferred.
• Ability to read blueprints and technical docs; measure parts accurately.

Responsibilities

• Perform welding processes including OTW, TIG, and VPPA on aerospace components to spec.
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and welding procedures to fabricate parts.
• Prepare and blend metal surfaces for welding and NDE; ensure cleanliness and fit-up.
• Fabricate jigs and fixtures for precise hardware builds.
• Use calipers, height gauges, and portable CMMs to verify quality.
• Troubleshoot and perform basic preventive maintenance on welding/laser equipment.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and compliant work area following 5S standards.
• Collaborate with team members to optimize processes and share best practices.
• Document work performed and communicate findings to engineering/quality teams.
