Job summary

Blue Origin on Space Coast, FL seeks a Welder/Laser Operator to perform precision welding on aerospace components using OTW, TIG, and VPPA. You will read blueprints, blend surfaces, and assemble sub-assemblies to exact tolerances while upholding safety and 5S standards.

The role requires lifting up to 50 lbs, teamwork with engineering and quality, and rotating shifts A-D. A trade school or high school diploma with welding certification and aerospace experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED plus trade school or equivalent.
• Experience with orbital tube welding, TIG, and VPPA in aerospace.
• AWS welding certification or equivalent.
• Ability to read blueprints and technical documentation.
• Proficiency with calipers, height gauges, and precision tools.
• Lift 50 lbs and work at heights; U.S. work eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Perform welding on aluminum, steel, and alloys to aerospace tolerances.
• Read blueprints and welding procedures to execute fabrications.
• Prepare and blend metallic surfaces for welding and NDE.
• Fabricate jigs and fixtures per aerospace standards.
• Use precision tools to verify measurements and quality.
• Troubleshoot and perform maintenance on welding equipment.
• Maintain clean, safe, and 5S-compliant work environment.
• Collaborate with team and communicate findings to engineers.
