Job summary

AAR Corp. seeks a Welder to join our Kansas operations at Triumph Accessory Services. The role involves TIG welding on aircraft parts, fabricating and repairing components to tight tolerances, and adhering to safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities include selecting welding materials, preheating, assembling with jigs, and inspecting welds while pursuing lean improvements in processes. Must be able to weld in multiple positions and read blueprints.

Qualifications

• Microsoft Office Basics
• ASW D17.1
• Read and interpret mechanical drawings and blueprints
• Read standard gauges and other measuring devices
• Operate basic machining equipment
• Learn industry-related software

Responsibilities

• Determine and install welding materials based on parent metal properties
• Strike arc to melt and form specified depth of fusion and bead by color, sound, and puddle
• Perform minor repairs including helicoil, flushing, grit blasting, degreasing, and filling holes
• Prepare broken parts for welding per standard practices
• Preheat work pieces with torch or heating furnace
• Position and clamp parts in jig or fixture
• Tack assemblies together
• Weld in flat, horizontal, vertical, or overhead positions
• Examine weld bead size and specifications
• Continuously pursue lean improvements
