Job summary

HX5, LLC seeks an experienced Mechanical Engineer/Thermal Analyst to support NASA Glenn Research Center in Brook Park, Ohio. The role focuses on developing thermal models for essential components in electric propulsion research, including motors, converters, and batteries, to optimize size, weight, and thermal performance.

You will build and refine models, conduct thermal tests in a lab, and analyze data to guide system-level thermal design.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering with ABET accreditation and relevant experience.
• Master’s degree with relevant experience is acceptable at reduced experience level.
• Experience with predictive thermal analysis tools and lab testing is required to support NASA programs.

Responsibilities

• Develop comprehensive thermal models for motors, power converters, and thermal subsystems.
• Design and execute laboratory thermal tests; analyze results.
• Translate findings into actionable insights for multidisciplinary teams.
• Support thermal management strategy development for advanced electric propulsion configurations.
