HX5, LLC seeks a Mechanical Engineer II to support NASA Glenn Research Center in Brook Park, Ohio. The role focuses on developing comprehensive thermal models for motors and power converters, guiding thermal solution optimizations to reduce size and weight while ensuring reliable performance.

The engineer will design and run thermal tests, analyze data, and communicate findings to multidisciplinary teams. Experience with ANSYS tools and aerospace thermal control is highly valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 2–5 years of relevant experience required.
• Master’s degree with 0–3 years of relevant experience acceptable.
• Experience with thermal modeling of motors and power electronics is preferred.
• Knowledge of aeronautic thermal control techniques beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Build and refine component- and system-level thermal models.
• Design and execute thermal tests in the lab.
• Analyze test data and translate results to actionable insights for engineers.
• Support development of thermal management strategies for advanced electric propulsion.
