Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Development Test Technician on 2nd shift to support the Starbase Structures team. The role involves building and troubleshooting test equipment, fabricating hydraulic panels, installing instrumentation, and supporting rigging and crane operations in a high-intensity aerospace environment.

The candidate will work with data and control systems, learn and apply NDT techniques, and assist in test operations involving hazardous fluids and cryogenics.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency certificate.
• 3+ years of experience with mechanical systems, high-pressure fluid systems, instrumentation, data and control systems, or test operations on mechanical or electrical systems.

Responsibilities

• Build, modify, and troubleshoot new or existing test equipment, including fluid systems, mechanical assemblies, data and control systems, and instrumentation.
• Fabricate high-pressure fluid panels, plumbing, and hydraulic manifolds, including tube fabrication and routing, cleaning, proofing, and activating.
• Install instrumentation, build and route harnessing, and troubleshoot instrumentation and wiring issues.
• Build, operate, and troubleshoot hydraulic systems, including pumps, actuators, servos, winches, etc.
• Assemble, modify, and inspect test articles, including structural fabrication, leak detection, non-destructive testing, and instrumentation installation.
• Participate in rigging and crane operations for test equipment and test articles.
• Build and modify data and control systems for test stands with thousands of channels.
• Maintain, calibrate, configure, monitor, test, troubleshoot, install, and repair instrumentation and electrical systems.
• Participate in test operations including high-pressure, hazardous, and cryogenic fluid systems, connecting actuators and instrumentation, and monitoring test video and data.
