Job summary

University of Arkansas Pulaski Technical College is seeking a Director of Aerospace Technology to oversee the Aerospace Technology Program, including day-to-day operations, budgets, scheduling, and coordination with main campus. The role also involves teaching as needed and ensuring FAA reporting and compliance.

The incumbent will lead curriculum development and assessments, promote innovative teaching strategies to meet federal aviation regulations, and maintain strong collaboration with UA-PTC

Qualifications

• An FAA Airframe and Powerplant rating license is required.
• The formal education equivalent of a high school diploma; plus, one year of experience in a specialized or related area applicable to work performed.
• Excellent computer skills to include Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; must be customer-oriented and able to develop and maintain a good rapport with students, co-workers, and staff.
• Dependability, reliability, punctuality, and confidentiality are essential.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the Aerospace Technology Program under the supervision of the Dean of Technical and Professional Studies, including day-to-day operations, budgets, scheduling, collaboration with main campus, coordination of student testing, FAA requirements for reporting, records, and visits, faculty support, and teaching as needed to ensure full operations.
• Teach aerospace subjects as needed to ensure full operations and student success.
• Participate in ongoing curriculum development, implementation, assessment and evaluations; promote innovative teaching strategies to meet learning objectives as defined by federal aviation regulations.
