Job summary

Cotulla Education is seeking an Aviation Maintenance Education Director (A&P required) to lead academic programs at our campus. You will oversee faculty, curriculum, instructor development, and compliance with ACCSC/FAA standards to ensure high-quality education and successful student outcomes.

Reporting to campus leadership, you will drive instructional quality, data-informed decisions, and continuous improvement to maintain regulatory readiness and a positive learning environment for students

Qualifications

  • FAA A&P certification is required.
  • 5+ years of management or strong leadership experience.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently with attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication; strong professional relationships.
  • Advanced MS Office skills for documentation and reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as liaison between campus and corporate program directors.
  • Audit curricula to ensure current syllabi, lesson plans, and textbooks are used.
  • Audit and report instructor performance at least semi-annually.
  • Conduct classroom observations and substitute as needed.
  • Create/monitor/update Faculty Personnel Reports for each instructor.
  • Facilitate initial instructor training by ACCSC standards.
  • Lead ongoing instructor development with educational staff.
  • Chair Program Coordinator meetings; ensure minutes are complete and filed.
  • Assist with PAC meetings and ensure minutes are documented and distributed.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by Supervisor.

Position Purpose

The Director of Education is responsible for the academic success, instructional quality, and educational integrity of all programs at their assigned campus. As the academic leader for the campus, this role provides leadership and oversight of faculty, curriculum delivery, instructor development, instructional resources, and continuous improvement to ensure students receive a high-quality educational experience that prepares them for successful careers.

Working in partnership with campus leadership and corporate academic teams, the Director of Education ensures instructional practices and programs are delivered consistently and in accordance with institutional standards and all applicable ACCSC, FAA, state, and other regulatory requirements. Through strong faculty leadership, classroom oversight, data-informed decision making, and a commitment to continuous improvement, the Director of Education creates an academic environment where instructors are supported, students are engaged, and educational outcomes are strengthened.

Success in this role is reflected through the quality and consistency of instruction, faculty performance and development, student academic progress and outcomes, curriculum compliance, regulatory readiness, and the overall academic health of the assigned campus.

Key Duties
  • Serve as the liaison between the campus and the corporate program directors who manage education
  • Audit all school curricula to ensure that instructors are using the most current syllabi, lesson plans, and textbooks as indicated on the intranet site
  • Audit and report upon, at least semi-annually, instructor performance Campus Director of Education (AIM)
  • Conduct classroom observations; substitute as instructor, as needed
  • Create, monitor, and update Faculty Personnel Report (FPR) for each instructor
  • Facilitate initial instructor training by ACCSC standards
  • Facilitate ongoing instructor development with educational personnel
  • Chair all Program Coordinator meetings and ensure completeness of minutes is reviewed and that a copy of all meeting minutes is maintained at the school
  • Assist with the organization and facilitation of all Program Advisory Committee (PAC) meetings and ensure completeness of minutes is reviewed, that a copy of all minutes is maintained at the school, and that a copy of forwarded to the appropriate corporate program director and the school’s Regional Director
  • Perform and complete other tasks that may be assigned by Supervisor
Required Qualifications
  • FAA A&P -- Must HAVE
  • 5+ years of management experience or proven leadership in a relevant role,demonstratinga track recordof effectively guiding teams, driving performance, and achieving organizational goals.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently with a strong attention to detail and a proactive approach.
  • Demonstratedexpertisein resolving conflicts, fostering positive workplace relationships, and collaborating effectively within teams.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a knack for building rapport andmaintainingprofessional relationships.
  • Capable individual contributor with effective leadership skills; adept at balancing diplomacy and assertiveness to guide teams and manage diverse situations.
  • Advanced skills in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, with the ability to create and manage documents, spreadsheets, presentations, and communications.
  • Willingness and ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as required to meet organizational needs and support operational demands.
