Job summary

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems seeks a Technical Writer/Editor (level 2/3) to join our Palmdale, CA or Edwards AFB, CA team. You will derive information from technical sources, write and edit manuals, and communicate complex data clearly.

You will work with engineers/SMEs, resolve discrepancies, and review products with customers to ensure proper use, with potential for level 2 or 3 roles and security clearances.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 2 years of military, aircraft maintenance, Product Manufacturing or technical writing experience; Masters degree and 0 years of relevant experience. In lieu of formal education, 6 years of relevant experience.
• Must have an active US Government Secret clearance or higher (with a background investigation completed within the last 6 years or currently enrolled into Continuous Evaluation).
• Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance within a reasonable amount of time as determined by business needs.
• Bachelor's degree and 5 years of military, aircraft maintenance, Product Manufacturing or technical writing experience; Masters degree and 3 years of relevant experience. In lieu of formal education, 9 years of relevant experience.
• Must have the ability to obtain and maintain SAP clearance within a reasonable amount of time.

Responsibilities

• Derive information from released technical sources and write, rewrite or edit manuals and publications to communicate clearly.
• Interviews with product developers and SMEs to acquire subject knowledge and resolve moderate data discrepancies.
• Coordinate findings with team members and consult engineering groups and SMEs as needed.
• Review products with customers and advise on proper use.
