Job summary

Terran Orbital is seeking an experienced Technical Trainer to develop, deliver, maintain, and coordinate training programs for manufacturing, engineering, quality, and support staff. You will ensure staff are competent, qualified, and compliant with procedures, specifications, and DoD regulations.

The role reports to a senior director and involves collaboration with external SMEs, maintaining certifications, and building in-house training content across multiple domains. Irvine-based, full-time.

Qualifications

• Experience developing and delivering formal training in EH&S, Quality, and manufacturing topical areas.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
• Broad technical knowledge of aerospace and electronics work practices and operating environments.
• General understanding of engineering drawings and manufacturing processes.
• Ability to work in a diverse and dynamic environment.
• Experience using a knowledge/learning management system.
• Ability to become a certified IPC-610/620 and J STD 001 trainer in house.
• U.S. Citizenship with ability to obtain and maintain DoD security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Delivers, develops, and coordinates curriculum; conducts technical training sessions and develops criteria for evaluating training effectiveness.
• Incorporates instructional fundamentals and develops in-house training programs, aids, and activities.
• Investigates requirements and creates learning solutions to meet safety and performance standards.
• Develops and administers practicum and examinations; revises lesson plans to stay current.
• Coordinates with SMEs to develop relevant Terran Orbital training content.
• Maintains certification records for trained personnel.
• Coordinates instructor-led training with customers and contractors.
• Analyzes safety criteria in procedures and design to control hazards.
• Documents technical solutions with engineering, operations, and maintenance.
• Identifies training needs and schedules initial and re-training.
