Job summary

Amentum is seeking a senior systems engineer for the Space Launch System Upper Stage office, providing systems engineering, requirements management, V&V coordination, and integration support. You will interface with NASA centers, contractors, payload customers, and ground systems to translate mission needs into executable solutions.

Responsibilities include developing operational concepts, verification strategies, and architecture documentation while managing risks and supporting lifecycle

Qualifications

• Engineering degree in a related field; 10+ years aerospace experience required.
• ABET-accredited university preferred.
• US citizen with STAR ID required.

Responsibilities

• Provide systems engineering and interface integration support for SLS Upper Stage.
• Develop and integrate operational requirements across lifecycle phases.
• Maintain OMRS, WADs, interface requirements, verification plans.
• Coordinate with NASA Centers, contractors, payload customers, and ground systems.
• Support analyses, trade studies, risk assessments, and decision packages.
• Coordinate with Safety and Mission Assurance to identify hazards.
• Lead technical integration activities across NASA centers and contractors.
• Document architecture via interface control documents and reports.
• Identify and manage technical/operational risks via NASA RM System.
• Support process improvements, affordability studies, readiness assessments.
