Job summary

Iris Technology Corporation in Irvine, CA is seeking a Systems Engineer II to derive and manage system-level requirements, advise across engineering disciplines, and lead integration and testing efforts for aerospace and defense systems.

You will develop system documentation, perform ATPs, and support technical reviews while coordinating across electronics, software, mechanical, and management teams. This role is hybrid in Irvine with ITAR compliance and customer-facing responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering or a related technical field.
• 5–15 years of experience in highly technical R&D, engineering, aerospace, defense, or related environments.
• U.S. Person under ITAR requirements.
• Hands-on laboratory experience with electrical test equipment (AC/DC sources, oscilloscopes, etc.).
• Experience leading technical projects and multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Derive and flow down system-level requirements from customer and IRAD needs.
• Generate documentation such as block diagrams, ATPs, interface documents, and reports.
• Lead system integration and testing activities in lab and at sites as required.
• Coordinate technical activities across multiple engineering disciplines.
• Provide technical leadership and communicate risks and solutions to stakeholders.
• Interface with customers to discuss system requirements and objectives.
