Job summary

Jobtailor seeks a Systems Engineer to develop fault management and autonomy architectures for aerospace programs. You will define redundancy architectures, cross-strapping, and fault containment regions across mission phases, and architect autonomous behaviors for analysis, design, and test.

Collaborate with the Blue Ring spacecraft Systems Engineering, Integration & Test team across the program, driving process improvements with ownership and urgency. TS/SCI clearance and U.S.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of a B.S. degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Aerospace engineering, Physics, or an equivalent technical field
  • 3+ years of experience with systems engineering principles and processes as they relate to aerospace system development
  • Demonstrated experience with fault-tolerance strategies and architectures for safety and mission-critical systems
  • Experience with autonomous system design, analysis, and test
  • Familiarity with embedded software system design or operation
  • First-principles knowledge of major spacecraft subsystems
  • Familiarity with FMECA, FTA, and FHA safety and mission assurance analyses
  • Ability to form relationships with experts from varying engineering fields and provide constructive feedback about FMSA, safety, and reliability concerns
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
  • Self-directed and capable of balancing several tasks at one time
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment
  • Willingness to travel 10–15%
  • TS/SCI security clearance required
  • Applicants must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident, or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum
