Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a senior System Safety/Systems Engineering professional to lead analyses for space vehicles and in-space systems. The role centers on fault tree analysis, hazard assessments, FMECA, reliability planning, and mitigation strategies.

Qualifications

• BS degree in aerospace or systems engineering.

Job description

Perform and lead engineering activities including Fault Tree Analysis, Preliminary Hazard Assessment, Functional Hazard Assessment, Hazard Reports, FMECA, reliability analysis, and mitigation plans
Develop plans and coordinate completion of system and subsystem safety analyses
Provide review, guidance, and expertise on safety analysis products
Ensure traceability between system and subsystem functions, requirements, and safety artifacts
Support verification and validation of safety and reliability requirements
Mentor and provide technical guidance to engineers across the program and company
Collaborate across systems to develop best practices and common processes across programs
Work with systems engineering teams, responsible engineers, program management, and customers on space vehicles and in-space systems

Requirements

• B.S. degree in aerospace engineering, systems engineering, or related field
• 7+ years of System Safety or Systems Engineering experience performing requirements definition, requirements traceability, functional decomposition, integration, verification, and validation
• In-depth experience performing safety analyses on safety-critical systems, including FTA, PHA, FHA, Hazard Reports, FMECA, reliability analysis, and mitigation plans
• Ability to lead and coordinate safety analysis products across stakeholders and experts from varying engineering fields
• Strong safety and mission assurance fundamentals
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills, with ability to communicate technical information effectively
• Applicants must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident, refugee, or asylee
• Required to pass Blue’s Standard Background Check
