Job summary

PPG is seeking a Supplier Development Engineer in Sylmar, CA to drive supplier performance, quality, and continuous improvement across the North American Aerospace business. You will partner with project managers, qualify suppliers, and lead cost-reduction initiatives while traveling up to 25%.

Base salary is $80,000–$100,000 with potential annual bonus up to 7%. Onsite in Sylmar with some remote work flexibility and a broad benefits package.

Qualifications

• U.S. Citizens, Green Card holders, or eligible asylees/refugees.
• Bachelor's degree as described above.
• 3+ years in procurement, supplier development, manufacturing, or industrial engineering.
• Six Sigma/CI/Lean certifications or training desirable.
• Team-oriented with ability to balance multiple projects.
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 25%.

Responsibilities

• Support development and execution of short-to-long term Aerospace SBU procurement projects.
• Lead supplier qualification and development activities (PPAP, APQP, FAI, etc.).
• Coordinate communication between suppliers and internal teams.
• Reduce supply risk by developing second source suppliers and alternate materials.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to reduce costs while improving quality.
• Support closure of action items in the Supplier RAIL and supplier performance initiatives.
