Job summary

PPG Industries, Inc. in Sylmar, CA, seeks a Senior Process Engineer to lead design, control, and advancement of manufacturing processes.

You will own process capability and performance across the lifecycle, driving SPC, DOE, and continuous improvement to meet quality, cost, and delivery objectives. You will partner with Operations, Quality and Engineering, own process validation and optimization, and provide technical leadership on new tooling, automation, and process changes to ensure scalable,

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering or related STEM field.
• 7+ years in process/manufacturing engineering in a regulated environment.
• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt preferred; DMAIC familiarity a plus.
• Experience interpreting drawings and translating design into repeatable processes.

Responsibilities

• Own manufacturing process capability using statistical methods (Cp/Cpk, SPC, trend analysis).
• Develop/maintain control plans, specs, and procedures for manufacturing processes.
• Analyze data, monitor inputs/outputs, set control limits, detect shifts.
• Lead design/implementation of tooling, jigs, fixtures, and process aids.
• Identify automation opportunities and manage capex with suppliers.
• Drive CI initiatives using DOE and structured problem solving to reduce waste.
• Maintain process docs, work instructions, and manage changes.
• Provide technical leadership in MRB and corrective actions.
