Job summary

PPG Industries (UK) Limited in Sylmar, CA, is seeking an experienced Senior Process Engineer to lead manufacturing process design, validation, and optimization. You will own process capability, drive statistical control, and partner with Operations, Quality, and Engineering to meet quality, cost, and delivery targets.

You will develop robust control plans, analyze performance data, and implement automation and tooling projects while guiding MRB activities and supporting new product

Qualifications

• BS degree in engineering or related STEM field with strong foundation in manufacturing.
• Minimum 7 years in process/manufacturing engineering within regulated environments.
• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt preferred with process control and continuous improvement expertise.
• Experience interpreting drawings and translating design intent into repeatable processes.

Responsibilities

• Own process capability using statistics (Cp/Cpk, SPC) and trend analysis.
• Develop control plans, specifications, and procedures for new and existing processes.
• Analyze data, monitor inputs/outputs, set control limits, detect shifts.
• Design and implement tooling, jigs, fixtures, and process aids to improve capability.
• Identify automation opportunities and manage capex with suppliers.
• Drive DOE, FMEA, and structured problem solving to reduce waste and cost.
• Maintain process documentation and manage production changes for validity.
• Provide technical leadership in MRB activities and corrective actions.
• Support new product introduction by defining process requirements and validation.
