Job summary

Moog Inc. in Torrance, CA is seeking a Manufacturing Sub Assembly Technician on first shift to join the Military Aircraft Group.

You will perform precision mechanical assembly and fabrication in support of aerospace component manufacturing, following engineering drawings and specifications. Responsibilities include installing bushings and threaded inserts, conducting matched-hole drilling, and assembling subassemblies with fasteners and hardware.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED preferred; ability to follow English instructions and perform basic math.
• Minimum 2 years or more of Assembly experience in mechanical, hydraulic, electromechanical or electronic domains.
• Experience with precision measuring equipment such as dial indicators, calipers and micrometers.
• Ability to obtain Security Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Install and size aerospace bushings, bearings, sleeves, and related hardware to engineering requirements.
• Install and inspect helicoils and other threaded inserts per aerospace specifications.
• Perform matched-hole drilling and reaming operations to ensure proper alignment and fit of mating components.
• Execute precision assembly of subassemblies using fasteners, rivets, bushings, pins, and associated hardware.
• Prepare components for chemical etching and perform chem-etch operations per procedures.
• Operate presses and machine shop equipment as needed.
• Interpret drawings, blueprints, specifications, and process sheets.
• Verify dimensions with precision measuring instruments and conduct in-process inspections.
• Maintain production records and support continuous improvement initiatives.
