Job summary

Moog is seeking a Manufacturing Sub Assembly Technician in Torrance, CA to work on aerospace components. You will perform precision mechanical assembly and fabrication according to engineering drawings and specifications.

The role reports to the Performance Leader and is onsite on the 1st shift (6:00am-2:30pm). Responsibilities include installing bushings, threaded inserts, drilling and reaming, chemical etch preparation, and operating a range of machine shop equipment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED preferred or demonstrated ability to follow English instructions.
• Minimum 3 years of Assembly experience.
• Ability to read blueprints and aerospace specifications.
• Experience in the Aerospace industry and basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Install and size aerospace bushings, bearings, sleeves and related hardware to engineering requirements.
• Install helicoils and threaded inserts per aerospace specs.
• Perform drilling and reaming for proper alignment of components.
• Assemble subassemblies with fasteners, rivets and related hardware.
• Prepare components for chem-etch and operate related processes.
• Set up mills and drill presses and inspect using precision measuring tools.
• Interpret drawings and verify dimensions and tolerances.
• Maintain accurate production records and support safety and quality goals.
