RTX's Pratt & Whitney in Middletown, CT is seeking a Structures Engineer Intern to contribute to design and analysis across development, validation, and production. This onsite role offers exposure to aerospace challenges and collaboration with skilled teams.

You will apply ANSYS/FEA methods, work toward certification readiness, and participate in multi-disciplinary reviews. The program emphasizes learning, safety, and hands-on engineering experience while traveling up to 10% and advancing

Qualifications

• Must be pursuing a Bachelor's or Advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering or related Engineering field and actively enrolled through completion of the internship
• Experience with one or more of the following: ANSYS, Finite Element Analysis (FEA), or Fatigue and Fracture
• Minimum 3.0 Cumulative GPA

Responsibilities

• Provide analytical support for detailed design, through development, validation, certification, manufacturing and operational service.
• Use FE and classical methods for strength, stress/deflection, vibration, fatigue life, damage tolerance, containment, kinematic and optimization analyses.
• Cover validation testing (engine and rig) and data-reduction.
• Support in-service field investigations.
• Participate in multi-discipline teams to provide design solutions that balance customer requirements for durability, performance, cost and weight.
• Coordinate with others to advance technology and improve engineering standard work processes/methods.
• Document and present results to management and external customers.
• Travel Requirements: 10%
