Job summary

RTX is seeking an Intern – Externals Design to join the Pratt & Whitney MSEN Engineering team in East Hartford. You will assist with design tasks, field investigations, and engine testing to support both development and production engines.

You will work with cross-functional teams to develop externals designs, interpret drawings, and apply CAD/PDM tools such as Siemens NX and Teamcenter to create models and drawings for engine components.

Qualifications

• Must be pursuing a bachelor’s or advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or related STEM field and actively enrolled through the internship period.
• Experience with Excel, PowerPoint, MATLAB, Microsoft Project, Jira or similar.
• Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA.
• Experience may be obtained through on-the-job experience, research, coursework, or projects.

Responsibilities

• Execute design tasks, support field investigations, assist development engine testing and support production engine assembly.
• Create and modify externals designs to meet project requirements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver engineering solutions.
• Support build and teardown activities, ensuring designs are implemented correctly.
• Utilize CAD and PDM tools to develop models and drawings.
