Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Principal or Senior Principal Structural Analysis Engineer for positions in Oklahoma City, Palmdale, or Whiteman AFB, MO. This 1st shift role with a 9/80 schedule focuses on structural modification stress analysis in a fast-paced development environment.

Responsibilities include analyzing damage tolerance and durability of airframe structures, performing vibration analysis with Catia, FEMAP, Patran, and Nastran, and collaborating across disciplines to deliver robust

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in STEM with 5+ years aerospace experience OR MS with 3 years OR PhD with 1 year.
• Experience in bonded composite structural analysis of primary and secondary aircraft structures.
• Experience in metallic structural analysis of primary and secondary aircraft structures.
• Proficiency in structural analysis methods and documentation, including hand-sheet analysis and large Finite Element Model manipulation.
• Familiarity with PATRAN or FEMAP.
• Active US Government clearance with ability to obtain Special Program Access.

Responsibilities

• Perform stress analysis for primary and secondary structures.
• Review analyses, drawings, and repairs for accuracy and clarity.
• Collaborate with other disciplines during design development.
• Present structural issues and solutions to management and customers.
• Maintain and improve part designs and systems for production.
• Develop practical solutions aligned with program objectives.
• Evaluate as-built products for compliance with standards and specs.
• Use structural analysis methods and large Finite Element Models.
