Job summary

RTX in McKinney, Texas, is seeking a Mechanical Engineer II – Structural Analyst to join the Radar, Airborne, and Space Systems Department. You will perform a range of analyses from hand methods to finite element modeling on RF and EO/IR hardware.

The role requires a Master’s in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, experience with FEA, and programming in C or Matlab. Onsite work with relocation eligibility and a competitive benefits package are offered.

Qualifications

• Master’s or advanced degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or related STEM major obtained by start date.
• Experience performing sizing calculations to determine scope of higher detail analysis models.
• Experience performing peer reviews of analyses to validate process and results.
• Experience performing structural analysis using FEA software.

Responsibilities

• Analysis tasks spanning the spectrum from classical hand analysis to detailed analysis requiring the use of finite element analysis software.
• Interpreting structural analysis results and proposing changes for design improvement.
• Developing high quality analysis reports for peer reviews.
• Presenting results to internal and external customers.
• Planning and supporting testing, data reduction and structural model correlation.
