Job summary

RTX in Texas seeks a Mechanical Engineer II - Structural Analyst to perform analyses from hand methods to finite element models, evaluating RF and EO/IR hardware for strength, durability, and performance. The role collaborates with engineering leadership and customers to plan tests and verify requirements.

This onsite role requires a Master’s degree in Mechanical/Aerospace, experience with FEA (Abaqus preferred), and the ability to obtain a DoD security clearance.

Qualifications

• Master’s or Advanced degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or related STEM major obtained by start date.
• Experience performing sizing calculations to determine scope of higher detail analysis models.
• Experience performing peer reviews of analyses to validate process and results.
• Experience performing structural analysis using FEA software.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis spanning hand methods to detailed analysis using finite element analysis software.
• Interpret analysis results and propose changes for design improvement.
• Develop high quality analysis reports for peer reviews.
• Present results to internal and external customers.
• Plan and support testing, data reduction and structural model correlation.
