Job summary

L3Harris Technologies seeks an early-career Mechanical Structural Analysis Engineer in Orlando, FL. You will perform structural analyses on aerospace hardware, including static, dynamic, and vibration assessments, collaborating with design, test, and manufacturing teams through development, integration, and production phases.

You will develop technical analyses, contribute to reports, and support production with investigations, test data review, and change management in a fast-paced defense

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field; minimum 4 years of mechanical engineering experience, graduate degree with 2+ years or 8+ years experience in lieu of degree.
• Experience applying structural-analysis methods to hardware using hand calculations and finite element analysis.
• Experience with fatigue, damage tolerance, fracture mechanics, or crack-growth assessment.
• Experience with structural-analysis tools such as Patran, Femap, Nastran, ANSYS or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural static and dynamic analyses using hand calculations and finite element models for flight and ground-support hardware.
• Evaluate hardware against strength, stiffness, vibration, shock, acoustic, and environmental requirements.
• Support structural dynamics testing by reviewing data and correlating results with models.
• Prepare technical analyses and communicate results in reports and presentations.
• Track engineering changes and support documentation through product data-management systems.
• Collaborate with Integrated Product Teams to complete analysis work packages on schedule.
• Travel up to ~10% to support activities.
