Job summary

AeroVironment offers a paid Summer Internship Program designed to give students hands-on experience in the aerospace and defense industry. Interns work alongside AV teams on meaningful software projects and develop professional skills in a full-time, onsite 12-week program.

Applicants should be enrolled in college or be recent graduates with a minimum 3.0 GPA and may qualify for relocation and housing stipends. AV provides a range of internship opportunities across U.S.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in CS/Software Eng or related field.
• Solid fundamentals in Python, C++, or Java.
• Familiar with IDEs such as Visual Studio, Git, or Eclipse.
• Strong data structures, algorithms, and software design basics.
• Proven problem-solving and collaborative skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in design, coding, testing, and debugging software components.
• Contribute to tools and applications supporting AV robotics and platforms.
• Collaborate across software, hardware, and systems teams to test new capabilities.
• Participate in code reviews, documentation, and version control workflows.
• Help develop automation scripts to improve team efficiency.
• Learn Agile processes and assist with prototype, simulation, and demos.
