Job summary

AeroVironment seeks a Software Engineering Intern for a 12-week, onsite summer program in the United States. You will join a collaborative team developing software across AV technology portfolios, from ground control systems to data pipelines and simulations.

You’ll gain hands-on experience, mentorship from experienced engineers, and exposure to Agile practices while contributing to real, impactful projects.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in CS/SE or related field.
• Strong programming foundations in Python, C++, or Java.
• Familiarity with IDEs such as Visual Studio, Git, Eclipse.
• Knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and software design.

Responsibilities

• Assist in design, coding, testing, and debugging software components.
• Contribute to tools and applications supporting AV robotics and aerospace platforms.
• Collaborate with software, hardware, and systems teams to integrate and test capabilities.
• Participate in code reviews, documentation, and version control usage.
• Help develop scripts to automate workflows and improve efficiency.
• Learn and apply best practices in software development, including Agile methods.
• Support prototype, simulation, and proof-of-concept development.
