Job summary

AeroVironment is offering a 12-week Summer Internship Program across various locations in the United States. As a Software Engineering Intern, you’ll join a multidisciplinary team to design, develop, and test software for ground control systems, data pipelines, and simulation tools while gaining practical experience in a full-time work environment.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a BS/MS in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
• Solid programming foundation in Python, C++, or Java.
• Familiar with IDEs such as Visual Studio, Git, Eclipse.
• Understanding of data structures, algorithms, and software design.

Responsibilities

• Assist in design, coding, testing, and debugging software components.
• Contribute to tools and applications supporting AV robotics and aerospace.
• Collaborate with software, hardware, and systems teams to integrate new capabilities.
• Participate in code reviews, documentation, and version control workflows.
• Develop scripts to automate team workflows and improve efficiency.
• Learn and apply Agile development practices and estimate timelines.
• Support prototypes, simulations, and proof-of-concept demonstrations.
• Attend meetings and contribute ideas for development effort estimates.
